Have I Ever Told You?
By Shani King, Illustrated by Anna Horvath
Have I ever told you that you make me the happiest person in the world, just by being you?
This book started as a note to my children, to remind them that they are amazing in their individuality and that they have the power to choose who they want to be in this world. This book holds the message of dignity that every child on this earth deserves and needs to hear. You are loved. You matter. You make me laugh. Have I ever told you that?
The process of internalizing values of dignity, self worth, respect and empathy begins with moments and images like the one you have shared with other parents and children. I love your book!
What a fantastic and beautiful book! A must read for every family in America.
Wonderful surprise in today’s mail. Just left a voicemail for Prof Shani King thanking him for the book and it’s powerful message!
This is the most moving book I’ve read in a long time. Every child should hear these beautiful words. We’d all need a lot less therapy!
I received copies of Have I Ever Told You?, written by Shani King and illustrated by an artist whose work I love, Anna Horváth. It is a book that should be in every child’s collection. It’s about diversity, kindness, empathy and love. I bought two copies. One for me and one as a gift. I think I’m going to order more.
What a great message for our children!
I love your book!
What a beautiful book, and what important messages. You have done a service to the world.
I just read Have I Ever Told You?. What a wonderful book. As a mother and grandmother, it brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart . I shared your book with my office mates and they love it and are going to be buying some for their families.
My friend and colleague Shani King wrote one of the most wonderful children’s books I’ve ever read. I’m buying a copy for each of my three children. You should buy a copy for each of yours as well.
This book is terrific. It captures and expresses in simple, yet touching and meaningful words the sentiments that we hope to convey to our children. It will no doubt serve to remind children of all backgrounds that they are loved and valued. The text and illustrations are wonderful and age appropriate for all children.
